WoW Marks of Honor: How To Farm Them Fast

What Marks of Honor are, and why collectors farm them

Marks of Honor are the appearance currency of PvP. They do not buy item level or power; they buy transmog and mounts, including old faction PvP mounts that are otherwise gone for good. They are Warband-bound, so you can farm them on any character and spend them on any other, and they stack up to 1,000, so you can bank a large supply before you ever visit a vendor. For a transmog or mount collector, they are the most valuable thing you can win in a battleground.

Where Marks of Honor come from

Every Mark comes from winning PvP, and a loss gives none. The reliable sources are:

• The Battlegrounds weekly bonus event. While the battleground bonus week is active, a quest to win four random battlegrounds awards 5 Marks of Honor on top of the honor you earn.
• Battleground, arena, and skirmish wins. The reward for a win can include Marks, so every win you take is another chance at them.
• PvP world quests. When PvP world quests are up, they hand out Marks as part of their reward.

Because every source is win-based, farming Marks is really battleground farming with a collector's payoff attached.

The fastest way to farm them: Comp Stomp

When the Comp Stomp brawl is in the weekly brawl rotation, it is the fastest Marks farm in the game. Comp Stomp is a battleground fought against computer-controlled opponents, so wins are quick and all but guaranteed, and each win pays honor and Marks like any other battleground with none of the risk of a loss. If you are farming Marks and Comp Stomp is available that week, queue it over everything else. When it is not in the rotation, random battlegrounds during a battleground bonus week are the next best thing.

Farm on one character, spend on another

Marks of Honor are Warband-bound, and that changes how you should farm them. You do not need to grind on the character who wants the reward, because the Marks go into your Warband and any character on your account can spend them. Pick whichever character queues into battlegrounds fastest, farm your Marks there, and spend them wherever you like. With a 1,000 stack to fill, farm in bulk during a bonus week or a Comp Stomp week and draw the pile down later.

What to spend Marks on

The headline reward is mounts. Old faction PvP mounts from past expansions cost around 15 Marks each and carry no rating requirement, so you can buy war mounts that are no longer obtainable any other way just by winning battlegrounds. Marks also buy old PvP armor sets and weapon appearances for transmog, at a few Marks per piece. The full list of what your Marks can buy is on the Mark of Honor page.

For the current season, Soryn in Silvermoon City sells this season's PvP weapon appearances for Marks: 5 for a one-hand, off-hand, dagger, shield, or tome, and 10 for a two-hander, polearm, staff, bow, or gun. She also sells the season's faction tabards for 100 Honor each.
