Where world PvP lives in Midnight
Midnight's world PvP is concentrated in one place: Slayer's Rise, the open-world region in the Voidstorm. It shares its name and its warlords with the epic battleground of the same name, but it is a separate place: an outdoor area where, in Blizzard's words, "Players with War Mode turned on will also be able to engage in World PvP". Without War Mode you can still quest there; with it, the zone becomes a running fight between the factions.
Each faction is aligned with one of the two domanaar warlords fighting over the region. The Alliance works with Vidious at the Grief Spire and the Horde with Ziadan at the Hate Spire.
Masters' Perch, the neutral hub
Masters' Perch is the sanctuary in the southwest of Slayer's Rise and the place to start. Blizzard describes it as a neutral PvP hub with a dueling area, PvP vendors and portals, and it is where you do the practical things:
- Turn War Mode on or off. Speak to Vidious or Ziadan at the Perch to switch it without going back to a city.
- Spend Bloody Tokens. Voidknight Vivi, the War Mode Quartermaster, sells the Warmonger set, the same stock as the quartermaster in Silvermoon City.
- Spend Slayer's Duellum rewards. Thraxadar, the Slayer's Duellum Quartermaster, sells cosmetics and mounts for Voidlight Marl, unlocked by your standing with the Slayer's Duellum, the zone's reputation.
- Travel. Portals connect the Perch to Silvermoon City and to the Grief Spire and the Hate Spire, and it has a flight point.
- Duel. The dueling grounds host the daily quest Carve Your Way: win a duel against another player or the Masters' Champion.
Deminos Darktrance also waits at the Perch, and he is where you hand in the introductory quest for the Slayer's Rise battleground.
The points of conflict
With War Mode on, three kinds of objective keep the zone moving.
The Void Posts. Three posts, South, East and West, can be captured by either faction, and holding all three gives your whole faction a zone-wide buff. The Void Post Control quest asks you to take full control of all three while in War Mode.
Rotating events. A new event starts every 30 minutes, and several of them are straight faction contests:
- Domanaar Escort: each faction escorts its domanaar; attack the enemy's to slow it down, and the first side to complete its escort wins.
- Void Capture: carry void barrels from the Path of Predation back to your faction's turn-in.
- Ethereal Control: fight over three ethereal beacons near the Shenzar Refinery.
- Ethereal Disruption: gather Ethereal Energy and turn it in at the Shenzar Refinery for temporary powers.
- Void Scavenge: Void-Tainted Remains drop far more often while it runs.
Spectral Battle Chests. A chest spawns every 30 minutes that up to five players of either faction can loot for Honor, so it is contested by design. War Supply Crates drop across the zone as well, and our War Supply Crate guide covers what they pay.

Two War Mode rules sit on top. The Enlisted bonus adds 10% to the supplies and gold from world quests, and since a March 2026 hotfix War Mode also raises the Voidlight Marl you earn from world quests. And the Bloody Tokens from Slayer's Rise PvP world quests only pay out in War Mode, so turn it on before you farm there. Achievements and the Voidslayer title
Slayer's Rise has its own achievement track, and it ends in a title. Slayer's Mastery rewards the title Voidslayer for completing six world PvP achievements:

Separately, Tour of Duty: Voidstorm asks you to earn 1,000 Honor in Voidstorm while in War Mode.
From the open world to rated play
The Warmonger gear you buy with Bloody Tokens scales up inside rated PvP, so a set farmed in Slayer's Rise is ready for a rated match the day you finish it.
