12.1.5 Tuning: Six Dungeons Nerfed, Coiled Altar Eased
The 12.1.5 dungeon and raid tuning is live. It cuts creature health, ability damage and durations across thirty-one creatures in six of Season 2's Mythic+ dungeons, slows Sszorak's rage on Mythic, and lowers Mythic add and orb counts in The Coiled Altar. Live October 13 in the Americas and 14 October in Europe.

Dungeon and raid tuning lands with 12.1.5
The 12.1.5 dungeon and raid tuning is live, and almost every entry in it is a reduction. Thirty-one creatures and bosses are adjusted across six dungeons and two raid encounters: Altar of Fangs, Murder Row, Ruby Life Pools, Temple of Sethraliss, The Blinding Vale and Voidscar Arena, plus Sszorak and The Coiled Altar in The Venomous Abyss.
The heaviest work is on creature health and on periodic damage. Ten creatures lose health outright, the largest cuts being 27% on Defier Draghar in Ruby Life Pools, 25% on Living Venom and 21% on Ascendant Serpent in Altar of Fangs. Most of the remaining entries trim an ability's damage, its tick damage, its duration or how many objects it creates. The raid half is narrower and mostly about time and readability: five more seconds before Sszorak reaches 100 rage on Mythic, lower add and orb counts on Mythic in The Coiled Altar, and four changes to how Manifestation of Dread behaves on every difficulty.
Two of the season's eight Mythic+ dungeons are absent from the list. Den of Nalorakk and Kings' Rest are not mentioned anywhere in it, so nothing in their creature tuning changes with this update.
When the tuning went live
The changes arrived with 12.1.5 itself, during each region's weekly maintenance, so the date depends on where you play. Blizzard published the tuning list twice and dated each copy to its own region: October 13 in the Americas and 14 October in Europe. The same list is now filed as the October 13, 2026 entry in the Midnight hotfix notes, where it is the only section for that date, with no class or Player versus Player changes beside it.
If you are checking what else landed in the same maintenance window, the full change list is in our 12.1.5 content update notes.

Which of these you will actually feel in a key
Four of the changes alter how a pull is handled rather than how much it hurts, and those are the ones worth reading twice.
The Primalist Cinderweaver change in Ruby Life Pools is the largest of them. A dispellable Living Bomb debuff whose explosion is cancelled by the dispel moves the pack from a damage-taken problem to a healer-and-utility problem, and it rewards a group that brought a dispel to the dungeon at all.
The Twinfang Harrower duration cut is the second. Six seconds off a 20-second effect removes 30% of its ticks, and each surviving tick also hits 20% softer, so the two numbers compound: the ability ends up doing a little over half the total damage it did before. Neither figure says that on its own.
In The Coiled Altar, the Mythic-only count reductions and the two-second Eternal Nightfall cast both buy time rather than remove a mechanic, and the Manifestation of Dread despawn change removes the re-fixate that follows a death. The five extra seconds on Sszorak's climb to 100 rage buy time in the same way, and they are Mythic only, so a Heroic group sees no difference on that fight. One entry in the list goes the other way: the Manifestation detection and stun angle is 10 degrees wider, so the cone that catches a player running past is larger than it was.
Everything else is arithmetic, and it is weighted heavily toward one dungeon. Altar of Fangs carries sixteen of the fifty-four entries, more than any other dungeon or raid boss on the list, while Murder Row, Temple of Sethraliss and Sszorak get one each.
What to re-plan now the changes are live
The packs worth re-planning are the Altar of Fangs trash runs and the Ruby Life Pools Cinderweaver pull, both of which now want a different route decision rather than more damage. In the raid, the Coiled Altar changes are large enough on Mythic that a group holding a pull plan from last week should expect fewer adds and fewer orbs than the plan assumes.

FAQ
When did the 12.1.5 dungeon and raid tuning go live?
With the 12.1.5 content update itself, during each region's weekly maintenance. Blizzard dated the Americas copy of the tuning list to October 13 and the European copy to 14 October, and the same list now appears as the October 13, 2026 entry in the Midnight hotfix notes. No time of day was published for either region.
Are these changes buffs or nerfs to the dungeons?
Almost entirely reductions. Ten creatures lose health, most of the remaining entries cut an ability's damage or duration, and three Mythic-only counts in The Coiled Altar go down. The one entry that moves the other way is the Manifestation of Dread detection and stun angle, which is 10 degrees wider than before.
Which Season 2 Mythic+ dungeons are not affected?
Den of Nalorakk and Kings' Rest. Neither appears anywhere in the tuning list, so their creature and encounter values are unchanged by this update. The other six dungeons in the season's pool all have at least one entry.
Does the raid tuning touch anything outside The Coiled Altar?
Yes, one entry. Sszorak takes 5 seconds longer to reach 100 rage on Mythic difficulty. Every other raid change in the list belongs to The Coiled Altar, and no other boss in The Venomous Abyss is named.
Does any of this change Mythic+ affixes or the dungeon pool?
No. The list covers creature health, ability damage, durations, counts and two visual or behavioural clarifications. It names no affix, no keystone change and no change to which dungeons are in rotation.
Do The Coiled Altar changes apply on every difficulty?
They are split. The Toxic Deluge orb count, the Virulent Mutation spawn count and the Dreadmarch target count are Mythic only, as is the Sszorak rage timer. The Mutagenic Venom radius, the three Manifestation of Dread changes and the Eternal Nightfall cast time apply on all difficulties.
Did Blizzard explain the reasoning behind the tuning?
No. The tuning list carries one opening sentence stating that the adjustments go live with 12.1.5, and then the entries. There is no developer note attached to any of them.
