WoW Honor Levels and Honor Farming Explained

What honor levels are

Honor levels are your account's long-term PvP progression. Every point of Honor you earn counts toward them over the life of the account, and they are shared across your whole Warband rather than tied to one character. There is no prestige reset any more, so your honor level only ever climbs. Your current level and the next reward waiting for you are both shown in the Player versus Player interface in game.

What honor levels unlock

Rewards arrive at set honor level milestones, and they are almost entirely cosmetic prestige: mounts, titles, battle pets, weapon enchant appearances and pennants, spread across the climb rather than handed out every level. Because the milestone list is long and the game shows your own next reward directly, the quickest way to see what is coming for you is the reward track in the PvP interface. Each honor level takes several thousand Honor to reach, and the cost rises as you climb, so the highest rewards are a real long-haul goal rather than something a single season delivers.

Honor also gears you

Before honor levels become the goal, Honor is what gears a character. It buys the Aspirant set at item level 331 from Captain Dawnrunner in Silvermoon City, and it has a holding cap of 15,000, so it pays to spend down toward gear rather than sitting at the cap. The fastest way to farm Honor

When the Comp Stomp brawl is in the weekly brawl rotation, it is the quickest Honor in the game. It is a battleground fought against computer-controlled opponents, so the wins are fast and all but guaranteed: queues pop in a couple of minutes, games end in under five, and there is no risk of a loss even on an undergeared character. The first win of the day pays a bonus over later ones, which rewards spreading the farm across your max-level characters. When Comp Stomp is not in the rotation, random battlegrounds and Battleground Blitz are the next fastest, especially during a battleground bonus event week, when a quest to win four random battlegrounds pays a lump of Honor on top of the matches themselves.

Whichever mode you pick, the fastest farm is simply the one whose queues pop quickest for you, so sit in the busiest bracket rather than the one you like best.
