WoW PvP Mounts: Every Mount and How To Earn It
Every mount you can earn through PvP in WoW right now and exactly how: the Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake at Elite, the Vicious Lightbloom Boar at 1000 rating, past-season Vicious mounts from the Vicious Saddle, and the classic war mounts bought with Marks of Honor at no rating.

Every mount you can earn through PvP right now
PvP has four live mount routes, and they sit at very different bars: one needs no rating at all, one needs a modest 1000, one needs Elite rank, and a whole back catalogue is bought with a currency you win in battlegrounds. Here is each route, exactly how it is earned, and which ones are on a clock.
The four routes at a glance
| Mount | How it is earned | Rating | Comes back? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake | Win 50 rated 3v3 games at Elite rank | 2300, Elite | No, this season only |
| Vicious Lightbloom Boar | Win rated matches at 1000 rating or higher | 1000 | Yes, in a later expansion |
| Past-season Vicious mounts | Vicious Saddle, earned by repeating the season progress | 1000 | Yes, each cycles back |
| Classic faction war mounts | Marks of Honor from battleground wins | None | Always available |
The four bars line up against the live 3v3 rating cutoffs, which show where the top of the ladder is sitting this week and how far off the one rating-gated mount, the Goredrake, really is:

The season's Gladiator mount
The top prize is the Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake, awarded by Gladiator: Midnight Season 2 for winning 50 rated 3v3 games while at Elite rank, which is 2300 rating. It is the one PvP mount that does not come back: once the season ends it is gone for good, and partway progress does not carry over. It is also the only one of the four that is arena-locked, since Solo Shuffle and Blitz wins do not count toward it. Our Gladiator mount guide walks through the requirement in full, including why the mount is not the same as the Gladiator title.

The rated mount almost anyone can get
The Vicious Lightbloom Boar is this season's Vicious reward, and its bar is far lower: win rated matches while at 1000 rating or higher and the account-wide progress fills toward the mount. At 1000 rating it is within reach of almost any player who queues rated with intent, and because the progress is account-wide, wins across your characters all count toward the same bar. It also takes wins in any rated bracket, so Solo Shuffle and Blitz both feed it, unlike the Goredrake. Our Vicious Saddle mounts guide covers the progress bar and the vendors in detail.

Past seasons: the Vicious Saddle
Fill the account-wide bar again after you already own this season's boar and you earn a Vicious Saddle, which the Combatant Mount Quartermasters exchange for any past season's Vicious mount you missed. This is how the Vicious line stays collectable: a mount you could not reach in its own season returns to the quartermaster in a later expansion, and a saddle buys it outright with no rating check beyond the 1000 you needed to earn the saddle. The Vicious Saddle does not expire, so you can bank one and spend it whenever. The full back catalogue and which season each mount came from are in our Vicious Saddle mounts guide.
Mounts with no rating: the Marks of Honor route
The largest pool of PvP mounts asks for no rating at all. Marks of Honor, won from battlegrounds, buy the classic faction war mounts from past expansions, the old Horde and Alliance PvP mounts that are otherwise gone. Every win is a chance at Marks, the mounts themselves cost only around fifteen Marks each with no rating gate, and Marks are Warband-bound, so you can farm them on one character and spend them on another. That makes them the go-to for collectors who would rather not climb the ladder. Our Marks of Honor farming guide covers the fastest ways to earn them and everything they buy.
Which one to chase first
If you are new to rated PvP, the Vicious Lightbloom Boar at 1000 rating is the natural first goal, and the Marks mounts are pure battleground time with no rating pressure. The Goredrake is the long game for arena players who can hold Elite, and it is the one with a deadline, so prioritise it if you have the rating in you. To gauge how busy the rated ladder is before you commit, the 3v3 activity shows how fast games are firing:

FAQ
What mounts can you get from PvP in WoW?
Four routes: the Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake for 50 rated 3v3 wins at Elite, the Vicious Lightbloom Boar for rated wins at 1000 rating, past-season Vicious mounts bought with a Vicious Saddle, and the classic faction war mounts bought with Marks of Honor at no rating.
What is the easiest PvP mount to get?
The classic war mounts bought with Marks of Honor, since they have no rating requirement at all. After that, the Vicious Lightbloom Boar at 1000 rating is the easiest rated mount.
How do you get the Vicious Lightbloom Boar?
Win rated matches while at 1000 rating or higher. The progress is account-wide and fills a bar toward the mount. Filling it again afterwards earns a Vicious Saddle you can trade for a past season's Vicious mount.
Do you need a high rating for PvP mounts?
Not for most of them. The Marks of Honor mounts need no rating, and the Vicious Lightbloom Boar needs only 1000. Only the Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake needs Elite rank, 2300, plus 50 rated 3v3 wins.
Which PvP mounts are limited to the season?
The Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake is this season only and never comes back. The Vicious Lightbloom Boar returns in a later expansion through the Vicious Saddle line, and the Marks of Honor mounts are always available.
