How to get the season's Gladiator mount

The Gladiator mount for Midnight Season 2 is the Venomous Gladiator's Goredrake, and it takes two things: reach Elite rank in 3v3 arena, then win 50 rated 3v3 games while you are there. Clearing both completes Gladiator: Midnight Season 2, which awards the drake directly. Elite rank is 2300 rating this season, so the mount is open to anyone who can hold 2300 in 3v3 long enough to bank fifty wins. It is not a cutoff reward, and it does not ask you to be the best on the ladder, only to get to Elite and stay there for fifty wins.

What the Goredrake looks like

The mount is not the Gladiator title

This is where most players trip up. Earning the Goredrake and earning the season title of Venomous Gladiator are two separate things with two different bars. The mount asks for Elite rank and 50 wins, full stop. The title asks for a top 0.1% finish on the 3v3 ladder with at least 150 wins, and it is settled at the end of the season rather than the moment you qualify. You can ride the Goredrake without ever coming close to the title, and that is the normal case: the mount is a rank reward, the title is a ladder placing.

The live 3v3 cutoffs show how far apart the two bars are. The mount sits at a fixed 2300, while the title tracks whatever rating the top fraction of a percent holds right now, which climbs through the season as the ladder fills:

What Elite rank means, and how wins count

Rank in rated PvP is a rating you have touched, not one you have to hold. Reach 2300 once, in any rated bracket, and you are Elite for the season even if your rating slips afterwards. But the mount adds a condition on top of the rank: a 3v3 win only counts toward the fifty if your 3v3 rating is at Elite at the time you win it. Drop below 2300 and the wins pause until you climb back above it.

How to actually reach Elite, and how long fifty wins takes

Reaching 2300 is the hard part, and it is a coordinated three-player game. A fixed team on voice comms climbs far faster than a pick-up group, so the single most useful step is to find two partners and queue the same composition every session, rather than swapping comps every loss. What is strong at 3v3 moves with tuning, so before you lock in a comp, check what is actually winning at rating right now:

Once you are at Elite, the fifty wins are a matter of time rather than skill, but the raw count matters. Fifty is wins, not games. At an even 50% win rate that is around 100 games; hold a 60% rate and it is closer to 85. Sitting a little above 2300 rather than right on it gives you room to lose a game without dropping out of Elite and pausing your progress, so most players find it easier to push to roughly 2350 and farm from there.

It has to be 3v3

The fifty wins are 3v3 only. Wins in Solo Shuffle, Battleground Blitz or rated battlegrounds do not count toward the Goredrake, even though those brackets share the same rank thresholds. Elite reached in another bracket still marks you Elite for titles and rewards, but the mount specifically wants 3v3 wins earned at 3v3 Elite. If arena is not your usual bracket, this is the one reward that will pull you into it, and there is no shortcut through the solo queues.

Get it before the season ends

The Goredrake is tied to this season and does not come back. Once Midnight Season 2 closes, Gladiator: Midnight Season 2 is locked for good and the drake goes with it: there is no catch-up in a later patch and no vendor that sells it afterwards. If you are partway through the fifty wins when the season ends, that progress does not carry over either. That makes it the opposite of the Vicious mounts, which cycle back around every expansion, so the Goredrake is the one to prioritise while the clock is running.
